Imaginary Ideas The day the sun forgot to wake up I opened my eyes after a night of exciting dreams and found the sun had forgotten to wake up. The clocked ticked 11.45am... perhaps the clock was wrong. I clambered out of bed and ran to all corners of the house checking on the time. It was exactly 11.45am. Looking out of the window it was black. Black as black could possibly be. A drip drop reverberated on the window pane followed by a deluge of green fluorescent raindrops falling from the black sky. Leaves on nearby trees were as white as snow. Was I going mad...perhaps? My pet dog Binki floated by with her pink tongue hanging loose and her legs outstretched above. I looked further on and saw the cat deep in an interesting conversation with the chooks— can’t think what about! I wander outside to have a closer look at the strangeness of the day. Not far from the door a sunbeam lies dying as I watch on. It is a devastating desperately sad sight to see. I pick it up gently in my hands and gently blow it a get well kiss with all the love and tenderness I can muster. The sunbeam reacts instantly by growing sun wings and flying back to its home in the sky. Immediately it smiles with gratitude beaming down on my world with warm sun rays. It is the most beautiful day the earth has ever known. Everyone who breathed the perfect aromatic air agreed except Binki. He rather liked floating around upside down in the air —that’s dogs for you...
